Troubleshooting Common Errors on DZDS.DZ
Struggling with "Server Error" or "NIN not found"? Read our troubleshooting guide to resolve the most common issues on the portal.
The dzds.dz portal handles millions of requests, connecting complex databases from the Ministry of Interior, Justice, and Social Security. Inevitably, users will occasionally encounter glitches or errors. Before you give up and head to the physical municipality, try these troubleshooting steps for the most common issues.
Error: "NIN Invalide" or "NIN Non Trouvé"
This is the most frustrating error during Account Creation. It means the system cannot find your 18-digit National Identification Number in the central database.
- Check for Typos: Re-enter the number meticulously. Do not include spaces.
- New ID Cards: If you literally just received your biometric ID card yesterday, the central servers might take a few days to fully synchronize. Try again next week.
- Database Desync: In rare cases, the local baladiya issued the ID but failed to sync the profile to the national registry. You will need to visit the Daira (district office) where you got the ID to report the sync issue.
Error: "Impossible de Générer le Document"
You are logged in, you requested an Electronic Birth Certificate, but the PDF fails to generate.
- Missing Data: The system might lack crucial data (like a missing date in the physical registry) preventing it from generating a complete, legally sound document.
- Name Discrepancies: If the name you entered does not perfectly match the Arabic spelling in the registry, the search will fail. Ensure your inputs match your Livret de Famille exactly.
- Server Overload: Sometimes, the "Server Error 500" just means the government servers are overwhelmed. The best solution is to try again late at night or early in the morning when traffic is low.
Error: SMS OTP Not Arriving
When requesting sensitive documents like the Casier Judiciaire, you need an SMS code.
- Network Issues: Ensure your phone has a strong signal. Sometimes Algerian telecom networks experience SMS delivery delays.
- Changed Number: If you changed your phone number since you registered, the OTP is going to the old number. You must update your profile settings in your Bawabatic account.
When to Seek Official Help
If you have tried multiple times over several days and the portal still refuses to recognize your data or generate your documents, the issue is likely a physical error in the municipal archives (e.g., someone misspelled your name in the physical ledger decades ago). In this case, digital troubleshooting won't work. You must gather your physical documents and seek intervention. See our guide on Official Contact Channels for the next steps.
