Getting documents from the DZDS / Bawabatic portal

The Algerian digital services portal is a website, not an app — there is nothing to install. You request and download your documents directly in the browser on the official portal.

1. Go to the official portal at bawabatic.dz (available in Arabic, French, and English).
2. Create an account and verify your identity.
3. Choose the document you need — for example, a birth certificate (S12), marriage or death certificate, casier judiciaire, or nationality certificate.
4. Submit the request online. The issued documents carry an electronic signature and QR code, giving them the same legal value as counter-issued copies.
5. Download the PDF and keep a copy somewhere safe.

Tip: only ever enter personal details on the official bawabatic.dz domain. Lookalike sites offering "faster" document delivery are not affiliated with the Algerian administration.
